Ride Today Service Manual
Digital version: Service Manual
In this document you will find the service terms that apply to the Rental Agreement for your Ride Today vehicle. Maintenance, repairs and/or roadside assistance must be reported via our Service Portal so we can help you as quickly as possible. For other (service) questions you can reach us at +31 (0)85 40 000 58.
Delivery of your Ride Today vehicle
After your order we immediately get to work to deliver your vehicle as soon as possible. Is your vehicle prepared by us and ready for delivery? Then we will contact you to schedule an appointment to deliver your vehicle. We deliver your vehicle to the agreed address, or you can collect it yourself at one of our pick-up points.
After signing the Rental Agreement, it is final. At the moment of delivery, the Rental Agreement for this Ride Today vehicle starts. Not only this Service Handbook applies, but also the rental or cooperation agreement, the Privacy Statement and our General Terms and Conditions. If you rent multiple vehicles from us, these are listed clearly on the Rental Agreement.
We recommend that before using your Ride Today vehicle you watch our instruction videos via the QR code on the vehicle, in the email with your contract, or on our website.
Damage and theft are covered
Good to know: your Ride Today vehicle is insured by us against damage and theft when this is not due to your negligence. So you can get started almost worry-free! The terms are further detailed in this Service Handbook and the General Terms and Conditions. If additional insurance has been taken out or different agreements have been made, you will find these in the Rental Agreement or the delivery form of your vehicle.
For example, for staff using your Ride Today vehicle, for the supplied accessories, goods, and your company in general, it is advisable to arrange the necessary insurance yourself. Ride Today cannot do this for you.
Repairs and maintenance arranged quickly
Periodic maintenance of your vehicle is included in the Rental Agreement. If you have a breakdown, that is also no problem. Repairs and maintenance are carried out as quickly as possible by Ride Today or one of our service partners.
If a repair is not possible, we will replace your vehicle, because with our vehicles you are never out of service for long. We make sure you are back on the road as quickly as possible. Want to know more? Then read the section on replacement vehicles.
What you can expect from us (and what we expect from you) is described in the Service Terms below and depends on the Rental Agreement and the vehicle you have contracted.
Enjoy your vehicle!
Terms of service Ride Today
1. Preventive Maintenance
Preventive maintenance of your Ride Today vehicle is included as standard in the rental agreement. What does preventive maintenance mean? During the rental period, periodic on-site maintenance is carried out to keep your vehicle in optimal condition. Our Service Department will contact you to schedule these maintenance visits; you do not need to take any action yourself. Of course, you can always contact Ride Today if you have any questions or experience any issues. You can reach us via service_nl@ridetoday.io or via +31(0)85 40 000 58.
A periodic maintenance service includes:
Maintenance of the Ride Today Vehicle and replacement of wear-and-tear parts (based on usage of 10,000 km per year), including:
• Tyres
• Brake pads and brake discs
• Drive chain or belt and sprockets
• Replacement of lubricants and minor consumables
Call-out costs
If the Ride Today vehicle is made available at the agreed place, date and time, no call-out costs will be charged. If the vehicle is not made available as agreed, an €50 call-out fee will be charged.
As the user of your Ride Today vehicle, you have the best view of its condition and safety. Therefore check your vehicle before every use for abnormalities, problems or damage that could affect use or safety. If in doubt, do not use your Ride Today vehicle and contact us immediately.
What do we ask you to do shortly before using your Ride Today vehicle?
• Check the tire pressure
• Keep required fluids topped up, if applicable
• Make sure the vehicle is clean
• Check that the lights work
• Check for damage or circumstances that prevent safe use
○ If this is the case, the vehicle may not be used until a repair has been carried out.
2. Repair
If your Ride Today vehicle needs a repair, you can report this 24/7 via the Service Portal. You do need to report this to us yourself. We aim to resolve repairs: within 2 working days after receipt of your report for a rental agreement for commercial use, and within 4 working days for a rental agreement for consumer use. We will of course coordinate the repair time with you. If your Ride Today vehicle cannot be made available at the agreed place, date and time, a €50 call-out fee will be charged.
A report or request submitted after 15:00 is considered to be received on the next working day. For example: if you report an issue on Tuesday at 16:00, the 2 working days start on Wednesday at 09:00. (See the illustrations in the original handbook.) We always aim to get you back on the road as quickly as possible.
Repairs and/or parts required as a result of misuse, an accident and/or incorrect handling are not covered and are at your expense. In that case, at least a deductible applies, as shown in Figure 1 (page 8) per model, applicable per incident and as stated on the Ride Today vehicle in your contract or cooperation agreement. See Article 3 for more information about repair and damage costs.
Replacement vehicle
If, two working days after reporting (commercial agreement; reports after 15:00 count as next working day as described in Article 2), your vehicle has not yet been repaired, we aim to replace your vehicle as soon as possible with a comparable model. If your vehicle must be replaced permanently, this is free of charge. When the damage is not your fault, we arrange everything, including the decals/stickers. In all other situations, the costs will be charged to you.
3. Handling damage and theft
At Ride Today we don’t like ambiguity. That is why we have guidelines for accepted and non-accepted damage, so that it is clear for everyone. First of all, we understand that your vehicle will show signs of use over time. We consider that normal and fine.
As stated above, your vehicle is maintained and repaired by Ride Today or one of our service partners. This party records all usage marks and damage based on the guidelines for accepted and non-accepted damage. Figure 3 shows the distribution of costs for maintenance, repair and loss/theft.
Accepted repairs
Usage marks and damage to your vehicle caused by an accident or normal use fall under accepted damage. We repair these and do not charge you anything. In the case of theft or damage, a deductible may apply. Figure 1 shows the deductible amounts per vehicle model and Figure 2 indicates whether a deductible applies (Yes) or does not apply (No) to a particular type of damage. Based on the age and mileage of the vehicle, it is determined which usage marks and damage are accepted and which are not.
Non-accepted repairs
Usage marks and damage to your Ride Today vehicle that arise from above-average wear, misuse, or from use/behavior contrary to the General Terms and Conditions or the user instructions/manuals of your vehicle, fall under non-accepted repairs, i.e. “Maintenance Outside the Service Plan”. For this type of damage you must pay the repair costs yourself, and in the event of culpable behavior you must pay the full deductible amount (Figure 1) and possibly an additional compensation based on the General Terms and Conditions. In the case of theft, the replacement value will be charged if negligence is involved.
Have you lost a key or has it accidentally broken off? No worries — let us know via Ride Today and we will quickly arrange a new key for you.
We charge €50 for replacing a key.
If the key has broken in such a way that the lock must be replaced, the cost of the new lock will be charged to you.
4. Essential contracts
Ride Today offers a proposition aimed at users who use the vehicle only a little. These vehicles fall under the contract type “Essential”, and the related maintenance and service are adjusted accordingly. On an annual basis, these vehicles may be used for a maximum of 1,500 kilometers, ideal for customers who use the bike once a week, for example. If more than the allowed kilometers are ridden, an extra mileage charge of €0.45 per kilometer applies. The mileage is calculated per quarter and invoiced accordingly.
If, for two consecutive quarters, more than 25% above the allowed number of kilometers is ridden, the Essential contract will be converted into a regular contract with unlimited kilometers and the associated maintenance and service.
5. Changes
Ride Today is entitled to unilaterally change these Service Terms and its General Terms and Conditions. Changes will be announced at least one month before the effective date via a notice on www.ridetoday.io or by email to you.
